In TO BREAK – The Window of Opportunity’s young artistic builds its own surreal world of objects made of wood and plaster. If a child will they carry on their playground, with a small intervention transforms into a scene from a David Lynch film, a spaghetti western or Tic Tac for adults.
Robbert & Frank / Frank & Robbert arouse the visual arts in a quirky way back to life. Earlier in CAMPO they created A journey into space. Their second creation TO BREAK – The Window of Opportunity is a cinematic visual installation with other new truths and lies, a mix of contemporary art scene together with an introduction to their imaginative world.
Frank Merckx (° 1989) and Robbert Goyvaerts (° 1989) constitute almost ten years an artistic duo based in Ghent. Where Frank was the first visual artist – he made paintings, sculptures and installations – Robbert especially those who went to work with digital editing and image editing. Frank stood before the camera, Robbert behind. As artists in residence at CAMPO in Ghent, they discovered a shared passion for creating all sorts of objects using different materials. Today they make because, among other visual installations of wood.
In 2012 she completed both their Master Multimedia Design at the KASK in Ghent. Their joint graduation A Journey into Space was still selected in the same year for the Young Work hatch Theater Aan Zee in Ostend. In addition to their performances, the duo is also building site-specific installations. With TO BREAK – The Window of Opportunity they were invited again in 2014. TAZ. Over the years were both Frank and Robbert a better picture of what the other was good at, so that today they are a duo that each counterpart creatively and technically. They seamlessly stringing various artistic techniques and forms of expression together and of building a body of work that does not fit in one style or medium.
